Dog stuck between two giant rocks: the intervention of the firefighters came out of a film
Toby, a 5-year-old hunting dog, escaped and his family miraculously found him:
he was stuck between two giant rocks. Toby’s screams and barks while trapped helped his family find him.
However, the intervention of the Chantada firefighters was necessary to get him out of there.
Initially, the firefighters tried to fracture the rock to free the dog who was about five meters from the surface.
It was impossible. They even went so far as to tell his family that there was nothing they could do, that Toby might not make it out alive.
The next day, April 23, the firefighters came up with another plan: using pneumatic cushions capable of supporting up to 70 tons.
This was used to lift the rock and support it with wooden blocks to make room.
And after more than three hours of hard work that day, Chantada firefighters managed to pull Toby safely out of the rocks.
In addition to the family’s enormous joy at hugging their dog again, firefighters assured that this was the most complex rescue they had faced to date.
