Meet the 1kg Fluffy Feline That Stunned the Internet
The biggest cat in New York, a handsome 28 kilo Samson, lives in Brooklyn.
“I consider him the biggest cat in the Big Apple,” says Samson’s owner, music producer Jonathan Zurbel, 42.
At 4 feet 4 inches, Samson looks seriously huge. This is confirmed by Manhattan veterinarian Lisa Lipman, who says most felines weigh no more than 10 pounds.
The Maine Coon breed, to which Samson belongs, is considered the largest in the cat family.
However, typical males of this breed weigh between 15 and 25 pounds.
Obviously, size affects cat behavior. “He behaves like a dog,” says Zurbel, “following me from room to room, lying next to the chair.”
The cat was purchased by its owner from a breeder in New Jersey, but unfortunately, she had to give it up due to her work schedule.
Taking care of such a beautiful animal is neither easy nor cheap. He eats up to 6 cans of canned cat food per day and several packages of dry food per week.
She requires 4 pounds of cat litter per week, and nail and hair care costs $120 per month.
